Few Words About Us

Coach Anderson

I am a current member and level one certified coach through USATF. I am  the boys throwing coach at Grayslake North High School. Personal Trainer at 1885 Fitness located in Northbrook and a Personal trainer at LA Fitness in Round Lake Beach. Through my years of athletics and coaching I believe that each athlete is a unique individual who desires an atmosphere where they are secured and capable of maturing intellectually, socially, emotionally and physically. As a coach I have an indomitable spirit to help students meet their fullest potential in these four areas through safe environments, being supportive to those who are risk-takers and to those who are willing to share personal thoughts as well as new ideas. Through the club each member will have the opportunity to experience each outdoor throwing event with the help and guidance from their fellow teammates. My expectations from each athlete is to be: respectful , attentive, hard working, determined, and most importantly... TO HAVE FUN THROWING!

Coach Escudero

I was introduced to track & field in eighth grade and it became a passion of mine ever since. I continued my throwing career to Mundelein High School and then onto College at North Park University. I have experience in all four throwing events and have competed in the USATF Junior Olympics for four consecutive years. My passion for coaching has lead me down the road to coaching the throwing events at Grayslake Central High School. I have been apart of this club for two years as an athlete. This will be my second year coaching for the Boas. I am looking forward to sharing my personal experience and teaching the younger athletes in hopes that they will come to love the sport as much as I do!

Practice Locations

Our practice locations are split between two different schools thoughout our summer camp. The purpose of this is for the athletes experience to train in different atmospheres and to train on different ring textures. During the summer we will have access to Grayslake North's weight room facility to work on our Olympic lifts. All throwing equipment will be provided to the athletes for training and competition. The athletes can use there own equipment for practice and competition, as long as it meets the USATF equipment standards.
